And it isn’t just spec upgrades — the 13-, 14-, 15- and 17-inch boxes all are available in silver, red or bronze, and are made of fairly sturdy stuff. Though the 17-inch 3700 is the mightiest of the bunch, we’re particularly taken with the 13-inch 3300 which starts at $699 and boasts a rather thin chassis…

Now this might explain Apple’s curious choice to not upgrade the 13-inch MacBook Pro to a Core 2010 CPU. Yahoo! News is reporting shortages of the more budget-minded Core i3 and i5 laptop processors launched by Intel this January , which has led to chip buyers outbidding each other to the point of paying 20 percent premiums on contract prices....
We’ve already seen plenty of leaked info about HP’s upcoming Core i7-based dv8 , but nothing beats an official specs page on a company’s own server for proof, does it? Looks like this 18.4-inch monster will pack a 1.6GHz Core i7 processor (we’re guessing that’s the baseline speed, as Intel’s Turbo tech will...
AMD might be playing catch-up with Intel at the moment, but at least it’s keeping the distance fairly close. Intel has yet to fully transition its desktop line over to its Turbo Boost -boasting Core 2010 series, yet its competitor has already announced its own, imaginatively titled, competing technology in the form of Turbo Core. It’s...

The last time we ran past Dell’s Zino HD all we had to go on specs-wise was that it housed “desktop parts” and had some nice plugs around back. Now the folks at the appropriately named DellZinoHD blog have found a spec breakdown of the unit, which is apparently also going by the names of Inspiron 300 and Inspiron 400 —...

While the MacBook Pro is just another Intel-based computer with standard internals, slightly inflated price tags, and a familiar (if legendary) design sense, Apple having the absolute corner on the market for building machines that legitimately run OS X can be a little rough on the upgrade obsessed. Waiting 10 months for a new computer, without...
