It’s still a DLP projector-based system with a 50-inch screen, but the PC at the heart of the table has been upgraded to a quad-core rig with GeForce GTX 285 graphics and, just as importantly, the number of points-of-touch has been increased to sixty, making it an even more attractive option for places like museums. As before, the table also boasts a nigh indestructible tempered glass surface, which has definitely been put to the test. See…

Say hello to Shuttle’s finest toaster-sized workstations yet. The G2 7600P (above right) is the AMD-loving variant that can be yours for $899 with a dual core 2.93GHz Athlon II CPU and low-end ATI FirePro or NVIDIA Quadro graphics options, or you can crank it up to a quad-core Phenom II X4 at 2.6GHz and up to 8GB of RAM. Computerized chess has been around for at least a few centuries now (okay, so maybe “score” is more accurate), but if you thought an IBM supercomputer dominating one of the planet’s brightest humans was gnarly, have a gander at this. We’ve already seen plenty of leaked info about HP’s upcoming Core i7-based dv8 , but nothing beats an official specs page on a company’s own server for proof, does it? Looks like this 18.4-inch monster will pack a 1.6GHz Core i7 processor (we’re guessing that’s the baseline speed, as Intel’s Turbo tech will...
Sixty-four, sixty-shmore… that’s so 2007 in terms of processing cores found in a single CPU: one hundred cores is where the future of computing resides. Ah, leaked company presentation slides, they have a clarity only Mr. Blurrycam would despise. EETimes ‘ got a batch of from Samsung dated November 2009 making the rounds, but more important than revealing its equal love for both Roman and Greek mythology, we get a glimpse at its then-planned ARM chip roadmap ( yeah, another one ) through...
There’s nothing outwardly different about the new iMacs Apple just released last Tuesday, but the hardware underneath that familiar aluminum chassis has gotten faster — particularly on the low end, where a new 3.06GHz Intel Core i3 processor and discrete ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics chip have taken over for the previous gen’s...
We’re starting to bank on the small business-oriented Vostro for a really compelling blend of features and price. Sure, it’s usually not the sexiest kit on the block (though the Vostro V13 would beg to differ), but it’s hard to argue with the stellar pricetags. Dell’s just thrown down a big 3000 series refresh to the Vostro...
We’re not sure what’s going on in Vietnam these days but it’s suddenly a hot bed for industry leaks. Perhaps it’s due to manufacturers expanding from China to Vietnam’s relatively cheap (but limited) labor pool? Or maybe it’s because the kids at Tinhte are just resourceful as hell? Whatever it is, they’ve...
Once upon a time, Dell’s Zino HD promised desktop parts in a tiny box and didn’t quite deliver the goods, but it was still cute and powerful enough a mini-desktop to earn a spot on our holiday gift guide . This time round, it looks like Dell might actually fulfill that original pledge, as support documents leaked at the company’s...
