Flash 10.1 coming to webOS in first half 2010, says kinder, gentler Adobe page

Adobe may be a bit curt with its page to Apple and its iPhone faithful , but try getting Flash from a webOS device, and the company’s got a message of hope: Flash 10.1 is coming, just wait until the first half of 2010. We don’t know how long this message has been up there, but as far as both we and PreCentral can tell, it’s fresh. It’s certainly a date we haven’t seen before — last we heard a public beta was coming the end of this year , which may or may not still be the plan if the above message is referring to a final, non-beta release. Now you current Pre / future Pixi owners have something else to look forward to besides release 1.3.1 . Filed under: Cellphones Flash 10.1 …

Now that OnLive’s beta is (kind of) out the door — a “bumpy takeoff” as coined by founder Steve Perlman — the company is talking about its future plans. One of those happens to be a piece of hardware dubbed the MicroConsole that’ll serve as the link from the service to your TV. Talking with Joystiq at E3 , Perlman...

Man, Adobe is really teasing up Flash and 3D. Straight from the mouth (or, rather, keyboard) of product manager Thibault Imbert: “What kind of [3D] API? True textured z-buffered triangles ? GPU acceleration? Even better? What I can say is forget what you have seen before, it is going to be big.” Big talk in regards to a session at...

No leaks or release date rumors this time, a mere 39mb download is all that separates your Sprint, O2 or Movistar connected Pre from video recording, Flash , enhanced message notifications and much-desired performance and battery life improvements. Verizon, Bell and Telcel customers are unfortunately still waiting for their day in the sun, only...

You know the old ’smoke and fire’ adage by now, and while the alarms aren’t sounding just yet, we get the feeling that they will be shortly. We’ve heard Samsung itself confirm that an Android-based tablet would be departing its labs sometime this year, and since then, we’ve also heard an IFA debut tossed around. Given...

Good news for nonplussed (in more ways that one ) Pre and Pixi owners: come the day after Valentine’s, it looks like you’ll be able to capture your loved ones in moving pictures format! This comes from an alleged Sprint technician who reportedly took the above screencap promising a firmware update with all the features we’ve...

Hey Dan, ever heard of a staging area to do your testing? Apparently not judging by the screenshot above. MacRumors took that “iPad – test – dan config – 3″ content from the CBS.com homepage for a spin and discovered what appears to be HTML5 ( not Flash ) video. A bit more sleuthing reveals several “webkit”...

Even amidst all their fighting, it appears Apple and Adobe can manage to lay down arms and work together every once in a while: Apple just enabled low-level access to NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 320M and GT 330M H.264 GPU hardware in Mac OS X 10.6.3, and Adobe’s followed up six days later with a new preview version of Flash Player code-named “Gala”...

We’d heard webOS 1.3.5 would be coming to the Pre on Sprint today, and here we go — it’s being pushed to devices right now. The official changelog is quite long, but the big-ticket tweaks include the removal of the app storage limit, better performance, and improved battery life. We’ll let you know how our update goes —...

We won’t cancel our trips to Vegas just yet, but Boxee is planning on giving users an early peek at its new beta release — with all new UI, queue, navigation and search features — December 7 at the Music hall of Williamsburg. So apparently the cats over at Gizmodo have gotten their hands on leaked pics of the Nexus One ’s landing and purchase page. First, the meat. According to the pages, the phone will be available in two ways: as a $529.99 unsubsidized and unlocked device, and as a $179.99 T-Mobile device locked to a two year contract. Sound familiar? It should,...
